There are a number of grant and funding opportunities available to businesses in Frontenac County. The programs below are ongoing, however there are also a number of provincial and federal opportunities that open and close on a regular basis.

 Ontario Trillium Foundation

Purpose: Equipment, renovations, installations, repairs, building structures

Recipients: Business, Municipal, Not-for-Profit

Application Deadline: Ongoing 

 Frontenac CFDC (Eastern Ontario Development Program)

Purpose: promote growth of local business, advance community-led economic development to enhance and diversify our local economy, create new sustainable jobs

Recipients: Business, Municipal, Not-for-Profit

Application Deadline: Program currently closed 

OMAFRA (RED - Rural Economic Development Program)

Purpose: create diversified business climates, long term jobs, local approach to economic development, creation of alliances and partnerships, develop information, tools and resources to enhance rural economic development.

Recipients: Municipal, Not-for-Profit

Application Deadline: Awaiting Intake Dates

 FCM - Federation of Canadian Municipalities

Purpose: retrofitting, construction, replacement, expansion or installation of fixed assets or infrastructure that will improve environmental performance in municipal energy, transportation, waste, or water

Recipients: Municipalities

Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Grant and Loan programs

Community Improvement Plans (CIP) can help communities address challenges that prevent optimization in certain areas. Through CIPs, municipalities can provide financial support to property owners for improvements that fit the critera of the plan. Municipalities can also acquire, rehabilitate, and dispose of land and improve infrastructure and public spaces. CIPs are proven to encourage change, improve community development, and foster economic growth. See the Community Improvement Plans available in Frontenac County.
 

Frontenac Event Incentive Program

The Frontenac Event Incentive is a three year pilot program to encourage and support event promoters and organizers reach new markets and attract visitors to Frontenac to participate in events. Successful incentive recipients will receive $10 per visitor attracted to the Frontenac region, where "visitor" is defined as anyone who does not live in Frontenac or the City of Kingston and has to travel 40 km or farther to participate in the event.

 

Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation

The Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) provides grassroots business support through flexible commercial financing up to $250,000 and administration of the Eastern Ontario Development Program grant program.

 

Eastern Ontario Development Fund

The Eastern Ontario Development Fund (EODF) is a provincial fund that gives money to businesses, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations for economic development in eastern Ontario.

 

Canadian Agricultural Partnership

The Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a five-year commitment by Canada's federal, provincial and territorial governments that will support Canada's agri-food and agri-products sectors.  This program replaces the Growing Forward 2 program previously in place.
