Family eating supper at the cottage #inFrontenac

All settled in after your adventure?

The cottage or cabin may be too comfy to resist… so stay in and fill your dinner plates with local ingredients, sourced from  these tasty retailers.

Plan ahead! Some businesses have modified their operations in order to continue serving you safely through the pandemic. This might mean reduced hours or take-out only options. And remember, face coverings are mandatory in all commercial establishments in KFL&A.

  • Start fresh and simple with our two seasonal farmer’s markets: Frontenac Farmer’s Market in Verona, and The Sharbot Lake Farmer’s Market a bit farther north. Get the Google Map.

  • Food Less Travelled in Verona is a mecca for fresh, local food. Produce, meat, dairy, specialty items, prepared meals, and homemade pies and butter tarts you will be talking about for weeks. Get the Google Map.

  • Stop at The Cookery in Inverary and pick up a fresh or frozen home cooked dinner with a difference. Get the Google Map.
  • Up in Sharbot Lake, Gray’s Grocery and Bake shop has bread, butter tarts and pizza. Get the Google Map.

  • Gilmours Meat (Harrowsmith - get the Google Map) and Milligan Meats (Cloyne - get the Google Map) are both butcher shops that cut meat to order.

  • The Sydenham Country Cafe is always expanding its collection of locally made products. Get the Google Map.

  • Silverbrook Garden Centre is exactly the spot you want to be during sweet corn season. Open spring to fall, "Silvers" sells all kinds of local produce, plants and flowers and a few funky antiques. Get the Google Map.

  • In Sunbury, Ormsbee's Mercantile is the corner store with the corner on pizza, handmade sandwiches, and lots of local products. Get the Google Map.

  • If you’re a real fromager, Back Forty Artisan Cheese in Mississippi Station -- and their renowned, handcrafted soft varieties -- is a must try! Get the Google Map.

  • An emerging group of saucy folks are making finger licking condiments in Frontenac. David & Sons Fine Condiments are in Perth Road Village, and both T&A’s Condiment Company and MissFortune's Hot Sauces are made in Sydenham… each uniquely delicious, and all well worth taking back home with you. Get the Google Map.

  • And no cottage dinner menu would be complete without the premium, artisanal cured meats of Seed to Sausage, our famed local charcuterie enabler just south of Sharbot Lake. Get the Google Map.

  • Keep an eye out for Barb’s Perogies, Hanna's Meat Pies, and Cheesecakery Bakery. They are all Frontenac based companies whose products sell locally and across the province.

Thanks for choosing local while you’re here! Tag your tasty pics and stories with #InFrontenac.
